Distant Shores

As our long term goal is to take an extended cruise to the Bahamas & then "down island", our short term goal is to visit as many island ports as possible in the years leading up to our cast off date.

In getting to see many of our future destinations, our concern for the unknown has been greatly reduced, and we now find ourselves in conversations about things "down there" such as those little shops beside the wharf in Gustavia (St Barts) or that wonderful banana rum made at Oyster pond (St Martin) or where the best spot is to drop the anchor in Rodney Bay (St Lucia).

Perhaps the best "ting" that has developed as we have been checking out all the "yachtie spots" is that we have found ourselves making friends with cruisers from all over the world as we go.

It is very true that cruisers are a friendly bunch, and so we exchange boat cards with people who are "out there" whenever we can in order to exchange email with them and learn from their experiences.

So far, this has been a wonderful activity, although somewhat of a departure from the regular "tourist things" that seem to capture most others that visit the island resorts.

The pictures in this section are of the places we have been & we will be adding more as the years go along.
